PDXstrength is proud to offer seasonal stand up paddle board classes. Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is low impact, a great workout, and gets you on the water enjoying nature.
Our SUP classes are not included in our PDXstrength monthly membership. Participants must be 18 years old, and know how to swim. Because class size is limited, cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to class.
If weather or river conditions are too unsafe to hold class, participants will be refunded or can use credit towards another class.
In order to participate in our SUP fitness classes, athletes must have prior SUP experience or be able to demonstrate understanding and use of fundamental movements from our introductory course.
PDXstrength SUP Fitness
This full body 90 minute workout will combine paddling with strength and conditioning activities. Just like our PDXstrength strength and conditioning classes, each class is unique, fun and challenging for all levels. Intervals, battle of the paddle, relays, circuits, and balance challenges are just some of the fun that you will experience all summer long. Price includes use of board, paddle, leash, whistle and life jacket. This class is designed for all levels, both experienced paddle boarders and newbies can be accommodated. Cost is only $60 ( $35 with your own board and life jacket)
How to Sign up: To maximize everyone’s experience we appreciate that you sign up for classes online 24 hours prior to class start time. That way there will be an appropriate coach to student ratio, help classes run smoothly so payment and waivers are taken care of, and we can prevent overcapacity during busy times. We use the software Mindbody to register athletes and take payments.

You will be able to leave your belonging at the gym, or locked up by our loading dock.
Cost: 90 minute SUP fitness class is only $60 ( $35 with your own board and life jacket)
Days and time of classes: SUP fitness classes are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings 5:30 pm-7:00 pm and Saturdays 10:30 am- 12:00 pm.
What to wear and bring: Wear your typical gym attire or rash guard. You can wear your swim suit if you plan on getting wet. Neoprene river shoes, aqua socks or shoes you don’t mind getting wet are recommended foot wear. Sunscreen, water and a towel are also items that you want to bring to class.
Will I get wet? Normally you don’t get wet, unless you want to jump in and cool off. There’s obviously a chance you may get splashed, or lose your balance, but that’s the fun part right?
Do I need to have my own board? We provide boards for our introductory and fitness classes. Bringing your own board is highly encouraged, and cost of class is reduced.
Do I have to be a PDXstrength member? No you don’t have to be a PDXstrength member to participate in our SUP program. SUP classes are not included in our PDXstrength gym membership.
